The 19th Century English artist Heywood Hardy was a prolific painter of the equestrian and sporting scene and enjoyed widespread recognition for all of his adult life. He continued painting until well into his 80's. During his lifetime Hardy exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Academy, and The British Institute. His works are currently in the Victoria and Albert Museuum as well as other institutions. His hunting scenes are considered to be among the best ever painted and continue to be very popular. A number of Hardy's works are available in ArtinaClick's equestrian gallery.
